Patient Education And Resources Before Your Manhattan Visit
Gotham Footcare provides premier foot surgery procedures to patients in the New York City area, as well as those traveling from greater distances. Our goal is to make you feel relaxed and at ease during your visit, and help you find the most beneficial treatment plan for your needs. If you are coming from out of town to receive treatment from our podiatrists, there are several accommodations in the area that can help you feel more comfortable.
To schedule your consultation, first call our office. Prior to your conversation with the podiatric surgeon, photos (front view, right, and left profiles) can be sent to our office either by email or regular mail. With the photos in front of him, the surgeon will consult with you on the phone and create a surgical plan. Your evaluation will be as thorough and as detailed as possible. You can then discuss the fees, surgical scheduling, and any additional questions with our doctors. We will make sure that all of your questions are answered before you travel to our office in Manhattan for your foot surgery.

If you are interested in foot surgery and you do not live in the New York City area, we need the following sent to us at least two weeks prior to your surgery date: Blood tests mailed, emailed or faxed by your physician. We also need a urinalysis, and a brief note from the doctor stating that you are in good health for surgery. In case of other concerns (disease, diabetes, etc.), we will also require other appropriate tests. We will coordinate this with your personal physician.
Immediately following your surgery, you’ll spend some time in our clinic’s recovery room. During this time, you’ll be closely monitored. When you’re ready to be discharged, we’ll schedule a postoperative consultation to take place a day or so after your surgery. We’ll also give you the emergency contact number of the doctor who performed your surgery.
The best way to make your recovery go as smoothly and quickly as possible is to carefully follow all the postoperative instructions provided in your surgical care package.
