About Dr. Hailemichael

Dr. Elelta Hailemichael completed her Bachelor of Science in Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the Hunter College State University of New York. Dr. Hailemichael received her doctorate from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2010 while working at the Clinical Microbiology and Immunology Department at NYU-Langone and Columbia Presbyterian. Dr. Hailemichael’s residency training as Chief Resident was completed at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Winthrop University Hospital, where she received extensive training in all aspects of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with an emphasis on forefoot and rear foot trauma and plastic surgery of the forefoot. Dr. Hailemichael completed a Wound care Fellowship with advanced technology wound care product and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Wyckoff Heights Medical center.

As a former avid tennis player and most currently amateur golf enthusiast, Dr. Hailemichael has a particular interest in diagnosing and treating sports medicine and golf related injuries. Dr. Hailemichael is committed to providing patients with the most compassionate and cutting-edge treatment of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Hailemichael takes pride in providing medical attention to those in need and graciously volunteers her services at the ING NYC Marathons and provides numerous foot screenings across Manhattan, including the YMCA and Jacob Javits Center Health fairs, to educate athletes and other professionals on foot related issues.

Dr. Hailemichael is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Hailemichael is fluent in English, Amharic, and Spanish.
